I am so glad that you have taken the time to come here and meet me. I wish I could meet you all in person and hope that one day I will but until then, I leave you with this information about myself so that you know who you are taking this journey with.
I am mother to a beautiful son and yes he hates it when I call him beautiful - but he is - both inside and out. I am a sister to a brother who is one year older than me and I am a daughter to a mother and father from whom I thankfully inherited creative abilities. I am recently divorced (but certainly open to new relationships!). My son and I live in a comfortable condo with our very affectionate dog who we called Bones.
So those are the main roles I play but also, I consider myself an artist but mostly a sharer and teacher!
I have never had a problem with sharing my ideas or my thoughts. I have never worried about people copying my work or doing as I do. In fact, although I am certainly trying to turn my art into a financially viable business, this is only driven by the fact that I truly want to share my art with you. Not only do I want to share my art with you - I want to share my techniques, my inspiration and the thoughts behind any piece of art.
I truly believe that everyone has the ability to create. I believe that women, especially have the ability to create. (If we can create and conceive children we can certainly create and conceive art!!! ) I know that for me there is nothing else I do in my life that gives me that - sense of peace, that being in the moment, being totally engaged, totally commited - more than when I make art. Creating art is my yoga, my meditation and my purpose. I want to share that feeling with you. I want you to have that same sense when you are creating art.
Don't ever think that you cannot do what I or other artists do. You can! I truly believe that.
And that is why through this blog and through my art I will share my process, my techniques and the thinking behind many of my pieces. I could have just designed my blog to be a showcase of my work but after trying out teaching for the first time - I knew that that was what I really wanted to do. I wanted to share that excitement, the passion, that great feeling of making art with other women. And I promise to do that by providing you with the tools you need, to build the confidence to know, that you too can create simple projects, with beautiful results.
I hope that you will join me on this journey. I so welcome all your ideas, your thoughts and your questions. WIthout you there I cannot fulfill this dream. I need you on my journey.
