I thought I would try my little houses on a different type of background. I have long had this book/journal with blank yellow pages and have been wanting to use it but as with all new things that I buy I always wait for just the right thing, or just the right moment to use it - this year I declare it to be a year when I use all my good stuff and don't just use it at the right moment. This IS the moment.
This journal is based on Charles and Ray Eames - if you have not heard of these wonderful architects, designers, painters, from the 50's, 60's and 70's go check them out. Anywas, the journal is appropriately called House of Cards - get it ``House" of "Cards" - so I thought it appropriate to do my little houses in this one.
The yellow background certainly adds something but I might need to tone it down. This is as I said a WIP (work in progress) and so I will show you the page as I progress.
This is the first stage of just gluing down some pieces for the houses:
That yellow sure is bright - see the skyline - just done with blue floral paper but I like the way it looks like clouds
A few lines added and some rub-ons - now you would think at this point it was almost done - but that's the beauty of these - there are still so many layers to add
A little sketching on the windows and a few more details - but still nowhere near done
I will sure you more in the next few days about the additional bits that I add - oh and I will have to address that yellow, YELLOW background,
Hope you have a great creative day!
