Here in Montreal - Canada - we have been having a beautiful beautiful summer. Because we have very short summers - just a few months - we really go crazy when its warm and the sun is out and the skies are blue. It keeps me outside and unfortunately away from my studio where I generally create. Because of this I feel a kind of restlessness, itchy to get my hands on some paint, but again, because the summers are so short I can't steal myself away inside.
So what I have been doing instead is going through a lot of my books (thus the Week of Favorites book post) and also going through some of my old journals. It''s great to look back at some of my work and see what I have been doing - looking back at it really gives you a different perspective and I find I look at my work as an observer, see it as you may see it for the first time.
So today I thought I would post some of my older, but favorite pages from some of my journals:
From my birds Nest Journal - this one was featured in a Somerset Issue
From my 6 x 6 Experimental Journal
From My Color, texture expiriment journal
From my When I grow Up Journal
I hope you enjoyed this look back and hope this provided some inspiration to get you (and me) back inside to the studio!
Have a great, creative day
