Christmas is indeed upon us and the mantle is done. Shopping still to do - lots of it.
It's been a busy couple of months for me with lots of things going on at the homestead. As you know I don't often bring my personal life into my blog but at times I find it freeing knowing you are all out there and have probably shared similar experiences.
In September my mother was diagnosed with oral cancer - no no it's okay - by October they had gotten it all out and she is now recovering very well. She is 83 but a real firecracker so she is determined to go back to her original "firecracker" self very very soon.
As the only child living in the same city as my mom this has been challenging with a full time stressful job, a 13 year old at home who still needs lots of my attention and love, a husband and an artistic career I am trying to pursue. I am, very simply, exhausted these days.
But ever hopeful, I am looking forward to the holidays and a welcome break from all of it. As usual during these times I turn to my art. And although not Christmas-y I have immersed myself in sketching and drawing every night. It really serves as almost a form of meditation for me where I get completely lost in the work. The entire night passes and it's time to get to bed before I even notice.
So I thought I would share here again some of the things I have been drawing and meditating on. Nothing too deep, just fun crazy forms and shapes
I like my girls -feel like I know them...

And from Carla Sonheim's book - not used to drawing animals but trying...
I promise to get more Christmas-y next posts - have a good, creative Wednesday!
